Changemakers – Applications now open for the Young Social Pioneers Program video

The Foundation of Young Australians (FYA) Young Social Pioneers is a doorway to a powerful community of changemakers and experts that will back and elevate young innovators as they address issues they care about. The Young Social Pioneers program is an initiative supporting young people who are leading responses to the most pressing social and environmental challenges of our time. Young Social Pioneers is open to Australians aged 18 to 29 years who are using their influence, platform or initiative to change the world. Building Thriving Rural Communities video

ACRE's partnership with Rural Councils Victoria to deliver 38 Understanding Social Enterprise workshops to rural and regional councils across Victoria has taken off. So far we have delivered the two day program to over 200 council staff, business and community leaders with plans to deliver another 15 this year and then again in 2019. Igniting Indigenous Social Enterprise image

  The first Indigenous learning and development program has been delivered in Bright, North East Victoria, to the Thamurrurr Indigenous Youth Corporation - translated in language for the trainees. The program was about engaging trainees from the Thamurrurr Indigenous Youth Corporation in an introduction to social enterprise.  Exploring the definitions, values and purpose of social enterprise trainees were able to apply this knowledge to their own business planning process and delivery of their own social enterprise in Wadeye, Northern Territory. The two-day program was delivered to a group of seven young people. Understanding Social Enterprise workshop: Loddon Shire image

ACRE and the Social Enterprise Academy Australia are working in partnership with Rural Councils Victoria (RCV) over the next three years to deliver cross sector learning and development workshops across the 38 RCV member councils. These facilitated workshops deliberately bring together cross sector leaders from government, community, education and business to learn about social enterprise.  An Understanding Social Enterprise Workshop is being delivered in the Loddon Shire this month. This two-day workshop will introduce participants to the objectives, purpose, theories and practice of social enterprise. Digital Story: Social Enterprise in Schools video

Students at St Joseph’s Primary Schools in Beechworth have been involved in the Social Enterprise in Schools Program for over two years now. This short digital story captures the key learnings and experiences of the students as participants of the program. Both Sharna and Sienna played a key role in the development and delivery of their enterprise and made fabulous tour guides. This experience, as captured in the video, has really provided some integral hands on skills in starting a business from scratch and developing new skills along the way.
