A two day workshop was held in Beechworth in April targeted at Community Development Leaders and Youth Development Practitioners. The purpose of the workshop was to:

  • Develop participants understanding of the values and purpose of social enterprise
  • Explore how entrepreneurial learning can engage young people
  • Investigate how practitioners can support young people through social enterprise
  • Create an action plan to apply what you can learn

The program supports practitioners in their work with young people by exploring how social enterprise can help young people succeed in a developing workforce.  Practioners also had the opportunity to explore social enterprise as a concept, the challenges currently faced by them and what the future holds for this growing movement. This workshop was delivered with the support of the Helen McPherson Smith Trust and facilitated by Jay Lamb from the Social Enterprise Academy in Scotland.
