In an inspiring example of community impact, Community Bank Mansfield & District is funding ALL primary schools in the Mansfield district to participate in Social Enterprise Schools.
Delivered by Social Enterprise Academy Australia , Social Enterprise Schools was launched in Australia in 2016. The Academy is ACRE’s enterprise and leadership learning and development partner.
Since 2016, more than 4,000 students across the nation have participated in the Social Enterprise Schools. The program is now spreading around the world, with schools from Egypt, Scotland, Malawi and Malaysia joining.
Opening up international connections
On 9 November 2021 Social Enterprise Schools Coordinator, Tom Colcott, connected enterprising students from Mansfield Primary with students in Malaysia for a virtual international social enterprise pitch exchange.
Community Bank Mansfield & District Branch Manager, Ryan Daykin joined the pitch exchange as an an expert panel member, providing feedback and encouragement to students.
Ryan said it was great to see Mansfield Primary School students having the opportunity to showcase what they are doing in their school on an international stage.

Despite many disruptions during the 2021 schooling year, Grade 6 students from Mansfield Primary who were part of Social Enterprise Schools explored social enterprise and entrepreneurship, and created their own businesses with profits being donated to their charities of choice – Jamieson Wildlife Shelter, Mansfield Autism Statewide Services and The Royal Children’s Hospital.
