Every schoolchild in Scotland to engage with social enterprise under new three-year plan

In an exciting development for the social enterprise sector, the Scottish government this week unveiled its latest three-year plan to support social enterprises and plans to fund just one “clear voice” representing the sector.

The 2021-2024 Social Enterprise Action Plan, published on 24 March, will see additional investment to help the sector grow and to put it “at the heart of Scotland’s recovery” from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Significantly, Social Enterprise Academy will be contracted to deliver programs in every school in Scotland.

The Social Enterprise Academy offers learning and development for individuals, organisations and young people interested in social enterprise and leadership.

The Academy introduced adult programs in Scotland in 2004, a Social Enterprise Schools programs in 2008, and international programs in 2011.

ACRE manages Social Enterprise Academy Australia, so we are proud to be part of this growing international movement that’s equipping the next generation.
